Barnes XPB .45 ACP

Anyone load up any of these yet? Barnes reccomends two different powders, Hodgen Longshot & Ramshot Silhoette (sp?). Anyone go there yet? I want to push this bullet thru a 3" barrel.

Faster powders may do better in a 3" gun. Those should do fine, especially in a 5" gun, but in a 3" you won't get all the velocity potential and probably will see a lot of muzzle flash. Just guessing from experience with similar powders and 3" & 5" barrels.

AA# 2 & AA# 5 do well in short barrels in the .45. I like AA# 2 in short barrels and it gives good velocity in longer ones as well, but AA# 5 beats it soundly in longer barrels, of course.
