Occasionally, i'll come across something that says that springfield carries a 1911 in .40 caliber. However, on their website i haven't quite seen such a thing, at least outside of the custom shop. Does anyone know if they actually make any of their models in .40? Thanks in advance, see ya later

They did offer the Loaded Champion model in 40 S&W but rumor is it was discontinued because of feed problems. Kimber offers the Pro Carry II Stainless in 40 S&W if you're looking for a 40 S&W 1911 with similar features at a similar price.

Is it easy to conceal? I'm looking for a carry gun mainly, and i like the 1911 style with the single stack, but i think i prefer the ballistics of a .40 cal. Of course i might just have to resort to a fullsize 1911 or an xd 40 or glock 23.

The Hi-Power (Browning / FN) carries much like a single stack, and they offer those in 40 S&W. The bbl is 4 & 5/8" long so it's right between the Commander & Gov't length 1911s.

If you're ok with DA/SA or DAO and want to stay with a single stack mag the SIG P239 and metal frame S&Ws look to be the best bets.

They offered a 5" Loaded model in 40. It's been discontinue several years now.
