I'm not a big fan ofthe Llama's. I'd go w/ the Taurus in this situation.

You want to be doubly sure the frame cracking problem on the PT-145 has been solved before you jump in.

Get a pt in 9mm, lighter, no cracking and less muzzle flip. Besides you only need a .45 for stopping people high on meth, but then they stay at home when they are high and steal ???? when their not. After all that you have a little chance of needing to draw it then have a small chance of having to us it.

Given a choice between these two, I'd pick the Taurus, but in 9mm. Given further choices, I'll stick to my S&W 640.

That thing looks like it's missing a part.

I'd get the Taurus.

Get the Millenium Pro - Taurus fixed the frame cracking problem and revamped the trigger. A much better gun- and it has a lifetime warranty- can't beat that! I'm waiting for mine to be available with night sights- should be any day now.

My Dad has a Llama in .380 that has run perfect since I was young. Its ugly but surprisingly accurate. Now he probably bought the thing 15-20 years ago, but hey, it still goes bang every time even though we rarely shoot it.

That said, go with the Taurus :D

In all seriousness....the Llama's are either good or bad....very little inbetween.
Ive had the 1911 bug for quite a while and ran across a nice Kimber which I was forced to sell when I lost my job.

In my quest for Knowledge....I did learn a little more about the Llama 1911's....and have heard some good things from people I trust. Lifetime gun guys that are very well rounded in handguns etc...........

Ive seen a custom gun built on the gun you have the pic of.....A Llama that was nicer than any PO Ive ever seen/shot/played with......

Id say go with the Taurus...but will not be so quick to jump on the "internet savvy Llama's suck" bandwagon......

Shoot well.

I would not buy either. But the Taurus is better. You'll be a lucky person if the LLama works at a 85% level. Small .45s require either luck, work and/or money.

I'm not trying to be negative or anything, but they just don't call out to me.
I would wait until something better comes along in the used market.

That is what I have always wondered.
