It would be nice if we can do it like a movie star. Drifting 90 mph down the strip and blow up all the targets ? Eventhough we hardly practice using gun with our left hand at all. If you are left handed its possible, If you are right handed, Its time to learn it all over again!!

I've been prcticing my w/ my weakhand for about a year now and have gotten comfortable with it...not good, but comfortable. Now the motorcycle thing...the next time I'm in a running gun battle atop a motorcycle will be the first time! I'm not too worried about that ;)

Or find an old british bike that has the accelerator/brake on the left side.

I'd just mount machine guns and rocket launchers on my motorcycle. The ultimate would be to ride a wheelie while shooting and then give the "thumbs up" to the pretty lady as you ride by. Also, as you're shooting some guy's car or something you should make a witty remark when it blows up...something like "Need a light?" or "Nice flamejob." (the latter comes off best when the car that is blowing up actually had a flamejob to begin with)

Last time me and Morpheous descended into the Matrix, we both ended up capping some Agents with our lefts, because of the Ducatis we'd stolen.

Does that help?

That's what my throttle lock is for.

I am pretty sure that there is a federal law against discharging firearms from moving vehicles...

And if I may ask...what country are you from MonkeyWhite?

"That's what my throttle lock is for."

It's good that you know that. Some folks think it's so they can lock down the throttle while going down winding roads, crash their bikes and sue Harley Davidson for big bucks. ;)

Okay, <puts flame suit on, as he jumps on his BMW cruiser> so what business had a Harley going down a winding road in the first place?

Youve never ridden a tweaked sporty have you?

Shooting from a moving car is bad karhma everywhere except if you are defending your life....that is what the thread is about.

Im a retired MSF intructor and sport bike enthusiast.....I used to eat, sleep bla bla motorcycles....and have never stopped doing guns either.

Ive tried the shoot/ride thing and frankly, given my time and experience on a bike.....this was a real bitch to do.

I could slide my GSXR's back end around a corner, leaving a black mark with the rear tire with my left hand in the air and never touching the left grip.........never crashed doing it either.....and still never hit a target while firing from a motorcycle.......Im a decent shot also.

The rule is never use your right hand for anything other than throttle/brake controll and you have a good chance of getting away from the bad guys anyway...........

Shoot/ride well.

Man, it's hard enough to drink a beer when riding a bike; let along hitting something other than your mouth.

I'm not kidding, it is really hard to drink a beer and ride a motorcycle. I an't imagine shooting.

Drinking beer underwater however, is do-able (with SCUBA gear)

Drinking beer is not a problem anymore with the invention of those camelback thingies. No empties to toss either. Don`t be a litterbug.
:neener:

Being left handed and able to steer with my knees, I have no problem shooting or reloading my AR. Why use a puny pistol when you can shoot serious weapons?:D

The only problem that crops up is the empties sometime hit me in the head. Wearing any kind of helmet spoils your aim you know.

Funny that you should bring this up... I was just thinking about this yesterday as I was riding. I would hate to let off of the gas and lose my possible getaway option, thankfully I practice weak hand everty trip to the range. I practice with every hold possible, just in case a senario ever comes up that strong hand supported is just not going to work. I would still hate to shoot off of a bike though just because of the fact that sport bikes have very tight suspension, and you feel every little bump, and it would all be transfered to your support hand. Just my thoughts on this.

Since I'm a lefty it would be doable for me if not for the fact that I don't ride a motorcycle. Shooting from a bicycle isn't quite the same. :)

For those interested in the Wehrmacht look, you might consider getting a sidecar, gunner and (automatic) weapon. Something like this (http://www.militaryhobbies.com/custom/productzoom/rg3071.jpg) [model image] should fit the bill. It might not be as much fun for the driver, but the job certainly gets done. :D

Cheers,

Having just taken my MSF course and learning how to ride...I'm going to say that I'd rather have both hands on the bars.

I learned via a "one finger" salute respose that a 1969 Honda Scrambler 350,,,using proper brake/throttle controls,,,and several backyards,,can actually get away from a hog,,or even a mess o hogs.

Ever seen Vanishing point?

Know that naked chick on the bike?

Know what she's riding?

What I never figured out was how in the world she didn't burn her thigh on those friggen scrambler pipes!

You were watchin' me!? Smokin' a Cee-gar while ridin' will give you a heck of a head rush!

-Ridin' down I-5 one time I saw some fellers with beers in a cage as I passed. So I slowed down, rode next to their window and made drinkin' gestures. They rolled down the window an' passed me a beer. When I finished it I passed the empty back and grabbed throttle.:D

use the bungee net to keep cheap pawnshop tools.
This way you allways have a weapon you can throw and not
spend $$ replacing.
hit men on M/C's allways have one driving one shooting....
you can allways explain the need for tools when talking to the
nice policeman.
it's better to get off bike and fight,a harley guy
in san jose recently got his back broken after getting hit
by a pick up truck road rager...
aiming with a full face helmet same as aiming with a gasmask
difficult but you can do it...
when giving the one finger saluteDO NOT TURN AROUND to see your salutee extend your left hand
backwards quickly give salute then return hand to bike handle bars and get the heck outta there....IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY I DRIVE PLEASE STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK

Fella's & Agony;

"Find an old British bike with the accelorator/brake on the left side." Now the rear brake foot pedal & (foot) shifter used to be reversed on British bikes, but please inform me of the model(s) that had the hand controls reversed also. My '58 BSA does have the foot controls reversed from current standard, but the hand controls are placed as per normal. How far back are we going?

Drinking from a container, not a Camelback, on a bike really isn't that difficult. Shooting from a moving bike is quite a bit more difficult. Just finding a place to practice safely can consume quite a bit of time.

But for suck-your-stones: They used to roadrace bikes in the parking lots & streets at Steamboat Springs Colorado, in September. This is a high alpine ski town. Take a Honda 1025 Superbike from town to the track, 'bout 4 miles. It's early & damn cold. Bike's running cold too. Right hand & fingers start to go numb. So reverse. Put the right hand in the left armpit & operate the throttle/brake with your left hand. On slicks, factory cams, Mikuni VM33 smoothbores.

Well, I experimented shooting while riding a 4 wheeler in the desert last weekend. Lost its novelty after repeatedly leaving numerous targets unharmed.

On a four wheeler, it is possible, but not practical.
