Can anyone tell me the age of a k38 (14-1) serial # 417xxx and a k22 (17-2) serial # 531xxx?

A K-38 --Mdl 14-1 has a manufacturing date of btw 1959 and 1961--

The serial # you list doesn't jive--Unless it is K417xxx then it is 1960--

The 17-2 was manufactured btw 1961 and '67-- K531xxx lists to 1963--

Or your numbers could ba assembly numbers--

Look on the butt for a number with a "K" prefix--

OK, stupid thread title. I should've seen that. But at least I made you look... :D

EJ, there is a k prefix on both of them. I just need to clean my spectacles more often. :)

Thank you.

You have two superb pieces of art there Not quite - they are not mine, they belong to my father. My grandmother is 99 and still lives alone in her own house - with those genes and the advances in modern medicine, I guess Dad has a few decades left at the shooting range before thinking about transfering his guns to junior. :D

But you are right, they are pieces of art. Or maybe "masterpiece" is a better word. :)
