:D
It took me about a year to shop around and I finally settled for a 357 Model 19.
Its used, but in 99% condition. I seriously wonder if the previous owner put more than a box threw it.
I think its a divorce trade-in.

Good for you! There are some mighty fine pre-agreement Smith & Wessons on the market, and some desperately need good homes.

What barrel length, Soda?
Get two more, and you'll match my Model 19 holdings. :)

Great S&W to start with! In fact some say it is the best.
I have 2 Model 19 revolvers. One has a 6" barrel and the other has a 4" barrel. What barrel length did you get?

Good choice!
What "dash number"? What barrel length? Round-butt or square? Blue? Nickel?
Inquiring minds want to know! :)

I see a Model 19-5 number. What's that tell me?
4 inch barrel.
Blue
The butt is round and then it squares of? What kind of butt is that?:D I just know its a cute butt.:)
I did the whole test that is posted as a "float" in this forum and it passed with flying colors.

Good luck, you've got one of the best. Both for carry and shooting. It used to be known as the "Lawman's dream." Please shoot mostly 38 specials and it will last a lifetime.

I owned two guns for the last 5 years. That's it. A SIG P220 and P229 9mm. I figure one 9mm and one .45ACP would be enough. I'm a relatively new shooter and didn't shoot them much, other than a couple times a year.
Then I bought my first revolver (S&W) a couple months ago....
I'm now up to *four* of them.
I love my S&W revolvers and the SIG's sit at home. If there was ever a war, I'd grab the SIG's with some extra magazines. But when I want to shoot for fun, I only use the Smiths now.

mod 10 is the most numerous S&W revolver.
It was also called the Military and Police.

"What are the most common S&W revolvers?"
In what caliber? I'd say the 19/66 was pretty popular in .357Mag.

Hopefully sometime soon I'll do someting. I've been getting a lot of emails from the TFL crew wondering why I haven't held anything. Too many reasons to talk about right now, but hopefully I'll have something this summer.

It is only right that I warn you...the mere handling of a S&W revolver will cause you to be infected with the S.A.W.'s virus (Smith And Wesson). I believe it is incurable, but not fatal...unless your wife gets real angry when you use the rent money to pick up that great revolver at the "great" price.
Great gun, by the way!
