Which would be better for introducing first-time female shooters? I know they'll all get 10mm Glocks two weeks later, but I want something that:
1. Is easy to control
2. Is easy to control (smooth action, short trigger reach)
3. Is in .22
4. Is reasonably durable
5. Is fun for me to plink with... oops

BTW, to the guy who is typing in "Mk II": I know, and one will be there. To the guy who is typing in "Single-Six", I'm talking 98-lb weaklings here (plus it's nice to be only one century behind in technology). And loading a SS doesn't inspire confidence. (I should get one anyway, to pl... I mean to offer as an alternative).

Just curious. Why are all these ladies going to get 10MM Glocks?

From what I've read (don't have either), I understand the triggers on both these S&W models tend to be a bit stiff out of the box. I suspect this is something you will find with most any .22 DA revolver of recent manufacture though (if smooth action is really a concern).

The triggers will be a WORLD lighter and smoother than a 317. That's NOT to say that box-stock j-frames are easy, however. The larger frame guns have much smoother triggers out-of-the-box. In any case, the heavier weight will help to make recoil inconsequential, and the all-steel construction will provide a lifetime of use.

Thanks. That would have been my guess, but had no experience with the new ones.

All true. Target autos have good triggers too, just look "too big" to some people.

They'll get whatever they feel like getting after they're "into" guns. Maybe .475 Linebaughs. Just want to make sure they don't get "introduced" with a light 12-gauge, as I have seen done.
