Hello all,

I keep hearing about some silly law, but I don't know if it is federal or California specific. Allegedly, this bit of legislative drivel makes shooting at a picture/specific representation of a politician (or other public figure, in some versions), sitting or retired, a major no-no.

1) Is this true?
2) What law is it specifically?
3) Why shouldn't I violate this particular law as often as I care/am able to as it EXPLICITLY infringes on my 1st Amendment rights?

I'm afraid I have no information for you, but I am sympathetic. Here in Massachusetts sale of targets depicting human beings in any way, including silhouettes, is illegal to anyone but law enforcement. Fortunately you can still mail order them as there is no law that says you can't actually shoot them if you have them.

If you're sure you've still got First Amendment civil rights.

They know the only targets will be osama, saddam and gun grabbers.
