I recently was searching for some info on the above bullets and found little so I thought I would post my results for those looking later.
All loads below used mixed brass, Federal LP primer, Clays powder, and Berry's .45 185gr HBRN bullets at OAL 1.260. Temp was 75 degrees. Gun was 5" 1911. These are 10 shot strings. I use a Dillon 550B.
Data will be in following order - High, low, average, extreme spread, and standard deviation.
4.5gr - 826, 696, 748, 130, 36
4.6gr - 781, 684, 749, 87, 30
4.7gr - 812, 600, 774, 212, 67
4.8gr - 850, 792, 811, 58, 18
4.9gr - 830, 793, 816, 37, 13
5.0gr - 864, 800, 830, 64, 20
I originally assumed the chrono was acting up but the following is same gun, time, and chrono. Powder is 4.0 Clays, 230 gr Rainier RN, same primer and brass.
744, 716, 726, 28, 10 which is the usual for this load for me.
Hope this helps.

The Berry's 185 grain RNHB is my favorite "plinking" bullet for the .45 acp. It feeds through everything and is an accurate bullet. My 1911's, Witnesses and XD all love them.
I load them with either Win. 231 or Ramshot True Blue, depending on my mood at the time I'm loading them. It doesn't seem to make much difference, since they all go into the same hole on the target.
Hope this helps.

I just recieved 250 Berry's HB 185 Gr. RN bullets after a post by ReloaderFred extolling their virtues. I am looking forward to trying them out. Berry's 185 Gr. SWC, 200 Gr. HP, and 230 Gr. RN have worked very well for me.:)
Hey Fred. What kind of velocities are you loading them to with W231 and True Blue?

Walkalong,
I've never chronographed the loads, since they're just "go to the range and shoot for fun" loads. I have a PACT Professional Chronograph, but to tell you the truth, I hardly ever drag it out and use it.
The loads shot so well, I didn't care how fast they went, and they functioned in all my guns smoothly, so I just load them and shoot them.
I load these bullets to 1.240" OAL, and they feed through all my .45 magazines for the various guns I have in that caliber. I don't usually publish my loads, but for the Winchester 231, I used 5.5 grains, and for the True Blue, I used 8.7 grains. The True Blue load is snappier, but still goes to the same point of aim as the Win. 231 loads. These were the first loads I used for this bullet and they worked so well, I didn't feel any need to do anymore testing, so I just loaded up 2,000 rounds and I've been shooting them. When those run out, I'll load up some more of them the same way. This is the only load I've found for the True Blue that I actually like. It proved to be really dirty in some other loads in the .45, but this combination seems to allow it to burn as well as the others. I've also loaded this bullet with 5.3 grains of Bullseye, and that worked real well, too.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Fred.
That answers my question well. I believe AA# 2 & WST as well as W231 will be tried. I may try some WSF also. AA# 2 has to get to a certain pressure not to leave partially burnt granules behind. Not so with WST as far as I can tell and it is tending to burn cleaner than W231. 5.0 Grs. WST and a 230 Gr. Zero will shoot through the same hole for me. WST seems to like the heavier bullets as well. I ordered 1000 X-treme 225 TrFP bullets to try with it. Thats all I used to shoot in lead (225 TrFP) with 5.5 Grs. W231. I just recently started trying 185 Gr. bullets looking to lesson recoil for my old joints. AC
Reduce 10% and work up.
