XD45 vs. 24/7

I was hoping to make a purchase in the future and thought I would ask for some opinions. I am interested in either the XD45 most likely the 4" Compact or the Taurus 24/7 in a .45. I would most likely use it for carry on occasion and a hunting/backpacking sidearm.
I love the way the Taurus feels in my hand and I have a Mill Pro for my main carry weapon, I am a little concerned on the reliability of the 24/7. That being said the XD speaks for itself, it is reliable and durable. Where I am at the price difference is right around $140. I would also go with stainless in the 24/7. Any suggestions from those who have shot both or had any problems with either. Pro's Con's ect.
Also I don't want to hear from Taurus bashers who have had no experience with Taurus Auto-loaders.
Thanks for your help!

The 24/7 from Taurus is a NICE platform. The .45ACP is even nicer. Believe it or not, it has a smaller grip than the XD 45ACP. I have the XD45ACP, and I am considering the 24/7 to have in addition. However, Since I have the Milpro 145C, I figure why bother at this point?

I sent you a private message about the XD45. I am trying to get mine sold, so if you did want one with some extras, it would save you some money. I'm selling the complete XD kit, with 2 additional 13rd mags, and the XD tactical light.

One think I recently read was that Springfield will NOT sell spare or replacement parts. If you break an XD, you can ONLY send it back to the company for repair. Anybody confirm this? How about Taurus? Do they sell spare/replacement parts?

That is true about Springfield not selling parts so you can repair your own weapon. I'm not really sure but I think Taurus has the same policy, though I think they might sell to an established gunsmith.

I really like the FNP 45 but am pretty sure most places are going to price gouge it like nobody's business. Out of the two mentioned I'd go with the XD. Don't know why I just would. Unless it was one of those 24/7 OSS models. Tan frame and five and a half inch barrel, I likes.

fattsgalore.... (great handle)

"but am pretty sure most places are going to price gouge it like nobody's business. " ..... why do you think this? Just curious. Most people have a hard time moving FN handguns.
