I just thought I would start a Dan Wesson revovler club since I did not find see one. I don't know, maybe I am the only Dan Wesson fan here, but I am really a Dan Wesson fan. Since S&W incorporated so many Dan Wesson features on their new X frames, I may have to get one of those as well, but that is another story. I just though I would post a few pics of my Dan Wessons.

Here's my model 44v6 and model 15v6, both excellent revolvers. I need more barrels and shrouds. I keep wondering if there is a way to get 44spl and 38spl cylinders for these things.

CZ-USA, current owner of Dan Wesson will sell you new barrels and shrouds and they are plentiful on ebay, gunbroker, and auctionarms. Check the new prices from the factory though, I see them selling USED sometimes on the auction sites for MORE than the factory charges for NEW ones.

I priced a replacement cylinder for my 445 supermag a few months ago (thinking of a conversion to 460 S&W or 454 Cassul) and they quoted me $90 as the price of the cylinder which would have to be factory fitted.

The 4"vent heavy non-compensated 445supermag barrel above is one of the new company barrels. The new ones seem very good, although I have not personally seen any blue ones.

In my earlier post, third picture, there is a 357 and a 44. The 44 is waring a 4" barrel I had just purchased from Dan Wesson about 2 weeks ago. The quality is top notch. The barrel assembles now come with a stainless steel barrel rather than blued carbon steel. One difference from my other 44 barrels (My model 44 is a pistol pack) is the "44 Magnum" lettering on the side of the shroud appears to be etched rather than roll marked.

I agree!

I do own revolvers from other manufactures but my Dan Wessons are nearly always the ones I reach for when I head for the shoot'n range :D .

Now if I could only find that elusive Dan Wesson model 45:scrutiny: .

Does anyone know if they're going to make the .357s again? They don't seem to be listed on their website. I used to own a 15VH back in the '80s. It was an EXCELLENT gun. I of course wish I hadn't sold it, although I know where it is and might be able to buy it back some day.

Who knows what they will do in the future, but I think the 445 Supermag is the only gun in production from the factory right now. There are plenty of 357's on the used market, although the price has increased considerably over the last few years. I guess the secret is out about what great guns DW's are and the demand and the price is going up.

Anyone been watching Dan Wesson stuff on eBay lately? A 12" .357 barrel/shroud assembly sold on eBay yesterday evening (3/28/07) for $660 :what: . There was another 12" that sold a few weeks back for $510.

I have a model 15 Dan Wesson 12 inch bull barrel .357 that I purchased in around 1981. Had another on with a 2 incher that I sold to my brother. Didn't shoot it for a lot of years because the rear sight broke. Found a Millet on Midway that said it was for the .44 model but it fit my .357. Forgot how accurate it was, plus it got a lot of laughs at the range when I was qualifying for my cch permit.

Well, as with all brands Wesson Arms has had at least one less than perfect model. I purchased a Wesson Arms 738P 2" 38+P Snubbie (Palmer, Ma) back in the early 1990's. It was built like a tank and had a removable 2" barrel. There were even rumors of 3" & 4" barrel kits to come but Wesson Arms went Bankrupt shortly after introducing this model. This model would have been near perfect except for a poorly engineered hand spring. When firing double action rapidly said hand spring would flex then bend beyond repair rendering weapon near useless. This was a known problem with the 738P and was never corrected due to Wesson Arms going belly up. A local gunsmith (Anchorage, AK) was able to fashion a replacement spring that solved the problem but by then I had lost confidence in the weapon and sold it. :(
I have not seen another one or even seen any references to this model on any of the Internet gun forums. I guess it was not a big seller!

I have always liked the hammers on my Dan Wessons as well, but I never heard anyone else bring that up. I hunt with mine and mostly shoot single action when I do. That big ol' hammer spur makes it fast and easy to find in a hurry. It also makes it safer to let the hammer down if I don't take the shot because you have so much metal under your thumb that it is almost impossible to let it slip, even with sweaty hands. These are little things, but they make Dan Wessons even more valuable to me. Nice looking 44 too, sometimes wish mine was stainless instead of blue, that way I could use my stainless 445 barrels on it. :D

I own a Model 15 from the early seventies. Very good tackdriver. I'm planning on using it for deer next season. I do need to refinish it, though. When I bought it most of the bluing was gone so I went ahead and took all of it off. I'm planning on putting some Duracoat on it.

Has anyone done a trigger job on one of these? I don't like the stacking in DA mode.

I would recommend Grant Cunningham for the trigger work. He is a competition shooter and gun smith who uses and works on Dan Wessons.

Put a long barrel on that 357 for deer. I got a 357 with an abused finish once. I just used cold blue right over the top of the blue that was already there and it came out beautiful. It took a few coats to work up to the same depth of blue as the original, but I was satified with the results. I have thought about duracoat or something similar for my blue 44, since I often used it hunting in inclement weather. Let me know how your duracoat job comes out.

Here is my only Dan Wesson at the moment. It is a .41 Mag with 8 inch barrel. I picked up a 6 inch barrel but have not fired it with it yet. Now to find a 4 inch barrel.

The factory should have a 4" and it will be the least expensive one for the caliber.

I have a Dan Wesson 22lr revolver. It is a large framed gun and mistaken for a larger caliber often.
I like it.
