Currently in my possession is a cheap INA revolver in .32S&W Long. The numbers on the frame read 2 15 (with the space), and then a 1 underneath. This gets kinda involved, so please stick with me. The gun belongs to a friend of my dad. Since the gun is broken, she has one of our .22 pistols (better than nothing, which is her alternative). My dad wants to get his pistol back, but doesn't want to leave her without either A) another pistol or B) money for the INA.
Here's the problem with the INA - it will fire once, then the cylinder binds up. I'm not exactly sure why, as I haven't fired it, but this is the theory: the firing pin bushing is missing. When the gun fires, the primer gets stuck in the hole where the bushing should be. This is what my gunsmith tells me could be happening, and he's good so I believe it is a possibility. Another possibility is that the timing is off. Problem with that is that the cylinder will rotate and lock all day long when it is empty. The crack between the crane and the frame looks more like a canyon than a hairline, and that could be related or it could be the way it came out of the Brazilian factory.
I have not been able to locate any parts for this gun. It would be far too epensive to have the part made. The lady cannot afford to pay for another gun, as she is about to be laid off due to significant budget cuts ("If the Department of Commerce can do it, everyone can do it" :barf: )
Here are my questions:
1) are there any other models from different manufacturers that use the same parts (like HiPower knock offs) that would be more available?
2)Does anyone know where to get parts for this gun? (model number above)
3)Would anyone be interested in buying this as a parts gun?
4)If I put it up for sale as a parts gun, how much should I ask for it?
It would be a shame to drop it in a lake or something since it is only missing one fifty cent part. The lady would need every penny she could get for it if she were going to buy another gun (like a used Smith or something) because of the job thing.
Any help would be appreciated (and would free up room in my safe).
