I was wandering around Gander Mountain today when I saw a Savage 16 ga semi auto. Some research shows that it's probably a Model 720 Standard Autoloader with an adjustable choke. It looked really nice but I wanted to ask you, my fellow High Roaders, if you knew anything about this particular shotgun?

If it is a 720 then it is a licensed clone of the Browning Auto-5. Excellent gun. The owner's manual is here:

Browning licensed that A-5 design to a LOT of companies.
I have a Remington copy of the A-5 in 16ga and it is an outstanding shotgun.
If that's what you are looking at I suspect you would get a real nice shotgun.
As far as I can tell all the parts are interchangeable with A-5's but maybe someone else knows more about that.

And I finally have the gun in my possession. Apparently it's a model 775a.
As my first shotgun, I'm really pleased with it. Hopefully, I'll be able to go shoot some clays next weekend.
