Well,
I turned my G19 into Tripp's last week, and got it back today..
All I can say is:
WOW!
Virgil Tripp and staff do beautiful work,
and attention to detail is excellent..
I'd recommend Tripp Research to anyone after this experience..
I also found out they are now making a 1911 magazine to compete with the Wilson Mags everyone seems to be so fond of..
I've just got to get a 1911 first, and then I'm going to buy one..
Check out his website..

I'm going to have them do my P7 too. With the Glock tennifer I just don't see the need for it except if it appeals to you cosmetically. My Glocks aren't my "purty" guns. :)

Nice, but ... My goodness!
What happened to the finger-grooves and accessory rail? :D
Yep, I luv the 3rd generation Glocks the best.

That slide really looks great.
Did you have to send them the whole gun?

No,
You don't have to sent he whole gun, and in fact, I believe you can avoid going through an FFL if you send only the slide..
I turned my whole gun in, because I wanted the slide release and take down lever chromed as well..

I was considering sending a handgun of mine, but I was wondering, if there is a non glare chrome finish available from Tripp.

I sent the slide and barrel to Tripp for my gun -- on it's way back real fast too! I didn't opt for the whole gun because I had some trigger work done to it and didn't want to hurt it. Next guns though....:D :D :D
It cost me $8 to mail it with insurance and $100 for the slide and barrel in Chome with $30 to return it to me. A great deal. My other compact will have the same work done by Tripp.;) I looked at other finishing companies but Tripp had the best turn around time, prices, gun finish and prompt e-mail to boot.

I emailed them out of curiousity about this same subject and they said that their current turn-around time was 8 days.. ;)

Do they take your sights off and put them back on?
