Will shooting shotshells damage the rifling in the barrel of a revolver or semi?

Not lead shot. But accuarcy is terrible at any range past 10 feet.

No, the gun will not be damaged in any way.

I've loaded 38 Special shot shells since 1967. Untold numbers of Copperheads and Rattlesnakes met their end from #8 shot from my S&W 2 inch J Frame.:)

The shot will drop a big snake out to 12 feet.

Every summer I load two shot shells, first up, in my J Frame walking around the place gun.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.
