Did a quick search on this, didn't see anything so figured I'd post.

I had heard this was coming out, but hadn't seen anything on Ruger's website until today. Guess I'll have to start looking around and see who in town gets one first.

6shot, 4" .44Mag. hmmmmmm, sounds like a good time. Anybody heard any positives or negatives about it yet? I'm guessing I'm behind the times a little with this.

Jeepman,

Search for my username as I posted a range report when I purchased mine not long ago. This is a 4inch redhawk by the way. This was my first ever ruger purchase and lets just say it impressed me so that I purchased a brand new 3inch gp100 with tapered lug thats hard to come by a week or so later :)

Blackhawk = single action. Redhawk = double action.

Anyways...that's actually the first Redhawk in .44 that's really interested me. I think it still may be a bit large but I'll take a first hand lok.

Revolver Guy,
Thanks for the range report.

I'm thinking about one of these to put back for my new son (other one got the 50th Ann. Blackhawk). I like the looks of it at lot.

I've been shooting one of these for quite a few years in a 5.5 inch model.
Thousands of rounds thru it without a hitch, still as tight as ever. Most of my loads have been heavy 240-320 handloads and it digests them with fine accuracy. I will have a 4" if for nothing else, cause I like shorter barrels, question is do I get the .44 or wait for it to come out in my favorite caliber to handload...the 45 colt....decisions, decisions.....

Guess that's why I didn't find anything when I did the search. <smacks head against desk> In my mind I was thinking Redhawk, dang fingers weren't typing what my brain was telling them to. It was the green beer I guess. Thanks for the correction, and I'll be sure to check out the range report.

357, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "hideous", but I think the grip does need a slight change. It's a little too fat being that short, if that makes sense. Maybe it's the concave bottom, not sure. Normally I prefer Hogue grips with the finger grooves, but will be interesting to look at what else might come out for it.

I'm planning to get one of these. I've been wanting a 4" Redhawk for years.
