In, MO right now, the only carry is open, but we are getting close!

I live outside a small town and open carry has never been an obsticle with 99% of the folks. Fact is, many have a side-bet that I will be the first in line for permits when they are legal! :D

My question concerns carrying around my farm when wearing bib overalls. I have a 92FS and using a belt around bids is not the way to go. It's too heavy for a pocket, beside I usually have a pocket full of hardware and such for fences and gates, etc.

Does anyone carry like this? I'm thinking one of those 'shoulder; types that I've seen for hikers. I value your opinion and help.
Thanks!

PS....OT....Saw the Eagels in concert last friday night in St. Louis and it was an awesome concert! Still riding high from that one!

Interesting question. I wear bib overalls much of the time, myself.

There's no open carry in public in Texas. I use a Smart Carry when I go off my property, and it works great for me--very comfortable and easily accessible. Out on my own place I usually have a small .22 in my front pocket (it's completely hidden) and something bigger, often a 4-inch GP100 in my right hip pocket, such that the grip is exposed. That's not uncomfortable for me; I can pack the GP100 around all day, no sweat.

What brand of overalls do you like? I used to favor Oshkosh, but they went out of business. Lately I've been wearing Walls, but I'm not crazy about them. Don't like Dickies or Liberty at all. That's about all I ever see around here.

I know a guy who likes to wear overalls over a pair of shorts with his rig attached to the shorts. You simply cannot tell. (The overalls are not particularly tight, nor are they particularly baggy.)

Im working on a solution for the bib overall wearers out there that want to CCW. Doing it mainly for my dad but probaly could turn it into a small buisness or sell the design ive got pictured to a company. It wont be directly plug and play, but still very confortable and accomidating.

Dad wears pointer and carhart bibs all the time now and he says his .380 bersa is too big for his pocket so going to figure out something for him real soon.

ya'll - he said OPEN carry.

I just came across this link on another post - check out the chest holster here (http://www.survivalsheath.com/holsters/index.htm)

It may look goofy when off your property, but if you will be working a lot, it will sure keep it out of the way.

Rickstir,

I'd just use one of those military style holster straps that allow you to hook a holster on using a standard hanger. This would be perfect for an M9. You can probably get one at any surplus store, but Cheaper Than Dirt has them for $7. Below is a link to it on their site.

My wife won't let me wear bib overalls.

She says I'd just expand to fill them. She's probably right. :(
