Hi, Gents!

I saw one of these at the local gun shop and thought maybe it'd be worth getting for my daughter to get her interested in informal target shooting. Anybody have one and have opinions to share? I shoot a lot, reload a lot, and have several Rugers, so if you have comments about this particular model and how it might work for a beginner, I'm all ears. Thanks.

I bought one over a year ago - new - and from a source that advertises replacement for problem guns. My example was beset with more QC problems than all of my previous SA Rugers combined (Check the base pin and ejector rods & holes carefully!). Still, it was so much fun, I wouldn't dare send it back. I cleaned it up and deburred & polished lots of stuff - what a chore - more proof of Rugers being delivered as 'works in progress' to me. I modified and fitted a .22LR Bisley hammer to it - and, odd as it seems since all of my prior Ruger SA's got them immediately, I did not put a 'free-spin' pawl in it - it's too much fun as is.

Now, I have .45's - and .44's - even fitted a BHG to a SBH - but... that .32 is just fun. Sure - get it for your daughter... but you have fun with it, too. I plan on taking it and the 4" SP101 I bought earlier this year to the range today. My 115gr LRNFP over 2.4 gr Titegroup in Starline .32 H&RM cases makes 730 fps from that 4.6" BHG SSM - and knocks over the smaller metal bp plates easily. Bigger rebounding plates are a bit of a challenge. The 100gr JHP Hornady that GA Arms loads is hot - made 1,186 fps from that SSM, which makes it upper +P .38 Special KE level.

Be careful - the round is addictive - you'll want another one - and the .32 SP101's are hard to find.

I urge anyone to buy a .32H&R of whatever brand you can find. It's a great round that deserves to make a comeback. It's become one of my missions in life to buy every one I find.

good choice. I have a brace of single 6's for my daughter -also & down load for cowboy shooting and another load to replacte a self defense round in a s&w 332. She can handle it better than a 38 ( in a 642 ). It will probably be her carry gun in a couple more years.

Have a pair of them. Gotta be one of the funnest revolvers I've shot. Great gun to pregress to after the .22 also when teaching new shooters/youndsters. Reloding can really bring some extra zip to the cartridge too.
