so what is the best way to bend the wire to clear the (hornady) seat&crimp die for 9mm. If i get it set down far enough to actually crimp it hits the wire.

One of my LNL presses had same problem with old set of RCBS .45 ACP dies and I ground off one side/bottom of seat/crimp die. Replaced dies with new set last week and had no problems. If you can't correct it by loosening screw on bottom rear of wire and moving wire, then call Hornady and ask for Doug Derner 800-338-3220 Ext 206. He is very good at solving problems for customers.

Good shooting and be safe.

If you're seating and crimping with the same die, use station 4. Put your powder check in station 3 and your powder measure in station 2.

Unless you are belling when you drop the powder, which I really can't recommend due to the additional complication when changing from one caliber to another. You will have to bell in station two, drop powder in station three, and seat and crimp in station 4. If you want to seat and crimp seperately, get the Hornady taper crimp die for station 5, or grind a lee or other die down so it clears the wire.

Use a powder that is fluffy enough that you can see the charge in the case and you will overflow the case if you overcharge. Unique or universal clays work well for me in 9mm.

Get a light and place it so you can see the powder charge in station three and 4 before you place the bullet. Skip the powder check die, it is completely un-necessary since you can see the cases so well in the LNL.

I agree with Master Blaster it is too much of a hassle to use the powder through expanders on the powder measure; just one more thing to setup during a caliber change. If you choose your loads correctly there is no need for the powder cop.

Dave if you have a low primer alarm on you L-n-L AP you can't put the powder measure on station #2. The powder measure will hit the alarm as it charges and if you have the alarm mounted on the black plastic tip it will raise it and spill your primers.

I use station # 2 only form expanding the neck and I use the Hornady taper crimp dies in station #5 when needed. I just ran 2,000 round of 40 S&W Friday evening. I would have loaded more but I ran out of bullets:banghead:
