Just to let anyone waiting for a Smith & Wesson 500 MAG know that Magnum Research released there BFR in S&W500MAG. I had an order in for the Smith & Wesson but changed it to the BFR. I am sure I will get it before I see a Smith. :)

Jebus Crisp!
Just wondering, is the B.F.R. (we know what that stands for) any smaller than the S&W? The Smith looks like it could double as a boat anchor.

BFR is pretty huge. I've seen both, I'm not sure which is bigger.

Stick a Bisley grip frame on the BFR and use the Hogue oversize wood Bisley grips and you just MIGHT be able to control that sucker.
I'd sure as hell much rather shoot that monstrosity of a round in a Bisleyized BFR than the S&W DA.

Has anybody compared the 500 Linebaugh Long (max) to the S&W 500? BTW, I believe the BFR is heavier and larger than the S&W. But.................I don't know if BFR's 500 S&W offering is in a long cyl or not.

Saw the BFR in my local shop, they figure it'll be the new conversation piece. It weighs in at just 68oz. They had to move five guns in the display case to make room for it.

Externally, the 500 BFR is pretty similar to the 45-70 BFR.
Long cylinder and all.
I saw one Wednesday at... You guessed it, my favorite gun shop!
