I'm ordering a bunch of Lee equipment and getting started casting bullets, but don't know which book to get. People have told me to get the 'cast bullet handbook' but I wonder if the information is included in one of these?

I have both books, the Lyman Cast B ullet Handbook and the Lee Modern Reloading. Both are good, I recommend that you get both.

Lyman is a good start, but only a start or the bottom rung of the ladder. Go here: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/

and spend a few hours (or weeks) reading the information posted there.

You should get both, and a caliber specific book also. That way you can cross reference your load with all of them, and if your load is too high according to 1, just go real easy from the charge they agree at.

Not all bullets and powders are in every reloading book, so you need a few to cover what you are reloading..

I forgot to clear one thing up - I'm going to order from C.T.D. but they don't have the Cast Bullet Handbook. They do have the Lee and Lyman books - is the information of the former included in the latter books?

A little. Teh Lyman handloading manual gives a few cast loads for each cartridge where appropriate. The CAst Bullet handbook gives several bullets and loads for each cartridge, though mostly with slow burning pistol powders or fast burning rifle powders (unless you are shooting black powder you'll probably end up doing the same in the end any how and be using reduced loads using 2400, unique, 4198 or 4227). The book has about 40 pages of historical development of cartridges and equipment which may ormay not be of much interest, with maybe 15 pages of technical information- its a good book to start with, but like I said earlier, its only a start.
