M&P question

I just picked up my 2 inch M&P. It's got Pachmayr grips, and shoots pretty nicely. I just realized that on the right side, it says:
Made is U.S.A.
Marcas Registradas
Smith & Wesson
Springfield, Mass.
What's with the Spanish?

That has been on all S&W revolvers since 1948. There use to be a lot of cheap Spanish made copies of Smiths back then and Smith wanted all its Spanish customers to know they were getting the real thing!

Certainly not. In fact, I had to rush out of the shop. Where was a really, really nice 4 inch model 10 in the case calling my name.

If so, when did it come out?

No, I don't think so...It's the Pre-model 10 Military and Police, 2 inch barrel, serial number C137XXX. People on THR have told me that puts the date of manufacture somewhere between 1948 and 1952.

You do realize that there are more spanish speakers than English Speakers in in the Americas, don't you?

I bet it looks a lot like these. One is C58,000 shipped in May of 1949 and the other is C56,000 shipped in July of that year.
Seems like with all of my paired S&Ws the ones with the earlier serials shipped last.
