I am down to 3 sticks of Mirror Lube that I ordered from Gander Mountain many years ago. I think I bought about 20 sticks of it at $1.25 a stick. Been trying to find it again and apparently it is no longer made. Does anyone know of a comercial lube that would be comparable to it or a home brew recipe that would be comparable.

Almost 30 years ago the NRA did exhaustive testing on bullet lubricants...guess what they found to be the best for cast rifle bullets for lubing and accuracy?
Plain old lithium grease straight from the auto parts store!!!!!
Because it is soft and wont meter through a lube/sizer they went with the next best thing...Alox and beeswax...still the standard today. I use the red lithium high temperature water pump grease not only for cast rifle bullets but for lubing my M1 Garand's high stress points and all my pistols and revolvers too!
For handgun bullets they advise the Alox-beeswax mixture.
