CMP has Greek and Lake City 30-06 cases, which give better results? Am i wasting my time with this ammo or is it worth it? I realize that it would probably be a good idea to use match ammo for optimal accuracy but would either of these two options be okay for plinking and would they be hard on the gun?

Both the LC and the Greek are good ammo. I have some of both. You can't go wrong with either. When my Danish runs out, I'd probably use the Greek for a match if I didn't have any handloads on hand.

Neither will hurt your gun. They were both made for the M1.

Commercial ammo will hurt your Garand.

And stay away from that Korean crap that's on the market.

I've had good results with LC69 in my Garand. I've not had occassion to order and/or shoot Greek. I've also had good results with handloaded 147grBT's.

I'm with Mr. White...I've used both LC and HXP and it is all good. The Greek that is all loaded on clips is just handy as can be. Some of the clips (JMO 71, I believe) don't take LC cases real well, but I have plenty of USGI clips for that.

I've been loading up on both flavors.

That HXP is excellent quality ammo.

The Greek came packed so nicely I felt bad about uncrating it (wing nuts on the wooden crate?!! NICE) and opening a spam can--not a spec of age on it in evidence. It was obviously made and stored like someone cared. I wouldn't flinch about betting on it in a tight spot--it was purpose loaded for the M-1. Ready to store away or shoot. The bandos are handy as hell and make you look cool also. The price works out to .26 per round incl. shipping. Something THIS good for the M-1 will never see light again in my book.
Buy some. If I had more $$$ I'd be on it now.

The LC is great ammo--but it is de-linked machinegun ammo and has some marks and dings. It has been handled more and that does matter at least a little bit. It's all-American made if that makes a difference.
