I just acquired a Colt SF-VI .38 special with a 4 inch barrel. I'm just wondering what this gun might be worth. I read another posting about the Colt SF-VI .38 Special Lady with a 2 inch barrel. I'm wondering if there are any other differences between the Special Lady and my SF-VI other than the barrel langth. From what I understand they did not make many with the 4" barrel. I'm sure there are a few people who can shed a little light as far as the history and value of this sweet little revolver. Thanks in advance for the info!

The SF-VI with a 4" barrel is VERY VERY rare.
Only Colt knows how many were made, but production was extremely low.

It's hard to assign a value to something so rare, because they almost never come up for sale.
Be assured, that collectors are hunting these.
My only advice on value is, first condition plays a major part, second, watch the gun auctions for one to come up for sale, then watch for the actual price it sells for.

The Special Lady had a bright polish finish and I "think"a bobbed hammer.
