Corbon 115 grain +P seem to deliver the most energy. But look around and find what suits you best.

The best ammo is any expanding ammo that your gun will feed reliably , I like the ones that shoot closest to point of aim / point of impact at 25 yards myself .

In my opinion, the Powerball flattens out too much and doesn't penetrate enough. Also Cor-bon's offerings are pricey. I switched to Double Tap Ammo because they're getting performance that Cor-Bon can only dream of, at lower pressure and for less cost. Most important of all is how they feed and how accurately they shoot though.

Second the nomination for Winchester Ranger 127 gr. +P+ Also who cares if it costs more he wants the best! I doubt he's going to run out and buy ten cases of the stuff. He'll hopefully try a couple boxes to see for himself how it handles then leave it at that.

In my opinion, the Powerball ... doesn't penetrate enough.

That's been my concern with it.

IMO there is no "best" defensive ammo, there is only what's best for you and your situation. For me, the 124-gr Gold Dot offers the best balance between expansion and penetration. YMMV.

I also like the Hornady XTP and the Barnes X-Bullet, as they penetrate more.

Gold dot +P No to Power Ball if any thing use the 115 +P if you wish to stay with Corbon. Assuming you pistol will feed HP.
