CarBon bullets seem popular for the kel tec 380's so i may get that brand. What is the difference between the DPX and their JHP?

Also, how well do you folks like Federals Hydra shok in comparison?

I am going to order several different boxes of ammun, various brands, but wondered how you feel about these two, and/or others.

Most all of the defensive rounds are very good~but are chron'ed out of a 4" gun. I tested 4 types w/ my p3at ( & my p32 ) & while the velocity was down a couple hundred, the silvertips penetrated wet phone book at 10 feet slightly less then the others, but had measurably better expansion. I carry silvertips.FWIW

I carry the CorBon standard JHP in my P3AT.

The DPX reads like marketing as much as anything.

I have never been a fan of Hyra Shok ammo, it seems to me to have much less velocity in most calibers. More marketing.

I'm a believer of using the heaviest bullet available for the caliber so its 102gr Golden Sabers for me. YMMV.

I carry CorBon +P 90gr JHP.

I haven't tried DPX yet and probably won't. They are just too expensive.

.380 CorBon PowerBall sucks. Didn't expand at all.

I haven't tried Federal .380 HS.

You might consider the ARMA laser for your P3AT. With just 7 fairly low power shots I want the best chances of all of them hitting where I want.

Low light fast point shooting using the ARMA equipped P3AT.
