Saw a nice Model 700 in .222 Remington the other day for sale. Serial # is 6345XXX. I think this puts it as an early 70's variant but can't find a reference.

Any assist/reference much appreciated. Heavy barrel version by the way.

Price looks a bit high to me but the rest of the info is accurate.

Looks like May, 1970 for an assembly date.

The barrel should have the letters E T, which would indicate the same month and year.

Hey guys, I picked-up my first M700 today and am wondering how to identify to exact model(BDL,CDL etc...) I may re-stock it w/ a synthetic. If I'm reading the numbers right (#D1569771) w/ barrel code "DI" it is from Sept. '76.
Also, has anyone used "Arts Belgian Blue" or have any recommendations for cold blue?

Hi, I have two Remington 700's that I can't date with the barrel code. The first is a 700BDL in .308,custom deluxe, A6265XXX with a blued IAL barrel. The second is a Remington 700 Custom Deluxe blued in 22-250, with a silver barrel marked NK, receiver # B 6539XXX. Any ideas on years. Thanks for the help.
