I've been looking at them and they seem decent enough, for an inexpensive scope. Will probably try one soon.

I only know one person that has one, and he is quite happy with it.

barska makes cheap (chinese) scopes for bushnell/tasco, simmons, etc. That means you may get a good one, or may get junk. I've had to return 2 tasco's over the past year because they were unuseable. I had a good chinese scope that said bushnell on it (but made by barska). It had no problems so I sold it here on THR. Hope yours is OK:) it's hit or miss on these chinese scopes

I have a Braska on my CZ 452 and it is very good. Of course not quite the same as a top end scope but good value for the money.

I thought they were russian. Probably were originally, but the chinee boys make anything nowadays.

Make sure you give it a thorough run through before the warranty runs out. I have a friend who has a gunshop which specialised in optics (he had a camera shop/optics shop and was offered a gun shop, so combined the business). He has sold a lot of Barskas over the year or so they have been available here and said that he had never had one returned. He went on to say, they hardly have trouble with any scope nowadays.

I try and save up for Leupolds, they are worth it in the long run.

I have one of their spotting scopes. It's OK. It does what it's suposed to. Yes very inexpensive.

I've tried a couple of different models. But haven't had them long enough to say one way or another. One thing I do like is they seem to be very clear. The subjective "view" when you look thru them is pleasant to my "eye". Time and abuse will tell if they are worth keeping.

I suppose it's like any cheap scope. If you're putting it on a .22 or just using it for informal target, you may get by.

If you slogged 3 days through bogs and swamps, through rivers and up/down hills and it's fogged up or doesn't hold zero, what's it worth??

I'd pretty much bet it'll fog up. Take your chances. Put it in the refrigerator or particularly the freezer, then pull it out the next day and check the internals.

uk roe hunter....sorry, you should have done this BEFORE you bought the Barska. But, maybe you'll get a good one.

I've got a Barska that I'm just about to mount on my CMP M12. 8-32x42. It seems to be pretty nice/bright for the lower end scopes. I wouldn't think about putting one on my hunting rifles or anything with much recoil. I'll stick with Leupold and Nikon for the abuse that a hunting scope needs to take.

No, I'm not jealous that the voices don't talk to me. They do. They're always yelling, right up until the last second I turn the wheel just before the curve in the road. -Then they shut up for a while.
