How ya doing!? been a while since i been on this. Well i got a question for those that are interested. I was wondering what is your take on the cz firearms? I got a offer to trade i think a cz 75? for my colt defender. Do you think this is a good trade? My whole thing is more on performance and reliablity. I can care less on how the gun looks as long as its going to function properly when i need it the most. Well thanks again!

If both were brand NIB, I'd think the Colt would cost you a little more than a standard CZ75. Like a couple hundred more... maybe two fifty more.
Only you know the value of your Colt, how well it shoots, it's weight to carry and shoot ratio. A stock CZ75 is gonna be bigger, heavier and hold more rounds (thus it should cost more... right?;) ). But it's not a baby Colt shooting a .45 acp round.
Your call. How bad do you want a really good 9mm?

The CZ is a really good gun, but some cash should accompany it if you are trading for a Colt Defender. How much depends on the condition of each. NIB CZ vs. used-excellent Colt, I'd say (just guessing) $200+.

CZ makes good stuff. Occasionally, Colt does also.
That said, if your mini blaster Colt runs with your ammunition of choice through your mags and out the ejection port, I'd go with the Colt.

If it is possible (financially) I would keep the Defender and start saving for the CZ (or actually, a Ruger MkII first).
FWIW, I recently sold my used Defender for $600. If I'd hung onto it a little longer, I might have seen $650 from it.
It is nice to have several rounds available--burn up some cheap 22LR and/or 9mm and carry the .45 acp Defender. That's just me, though.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Both are excellent pistols. But on the used gun market at the gun shows around here the Colt is worth twice what the CZ is. I see Defenders going for about $650-700 and the CZ for $300-$350 used. Now if it is a really early CZ with the shorter step down slide and frame that was brought in back in the mid 80s there are collectors who seek those, but it is important that they are with out import stamps. Those will bring about $700.
