A well made gun will last a long time, longer than you or I even.

What's the oldest gun that you own?

(Post a picture if you can!)

1878 Swiss Veterli rifle, 10.4mm (.41cal) Swiss Rimfire. Inherited from my grandfather who bought it as a teenager. Wood in great shape, Awesome trigger ... too bad nobody makes ammo or brass for the thing anymore ... but it looks great on the wall.

My Dad's 1938 Winchester bolt action .22 rifle. He poured hundreds of thousands of rounds through it. He won it as the prize for first place in the 1938 State of Oregon Junior marksmanship contest. I too have run at least a hundred thousand rounds through it. It is the most accurate gun out to one hundred yards that I own.

1). 1898 vintage Swedish Mauser, Oberndorf Mfg.

1). 1937 vintage Walther Sportmodell V, 22lr single shot.

3). 1936 production Winchester M12 in 16 ga, cased set.

The rest I decline to talk about. The 5th Amendment is still good for something around my house.

1903 Swedish Mauser, a great shooter.
The oldest is a 1860 Colt Army, it looks like it ceased functioning soon after the Civil War.

Remington number 1 Rolling block, .50-70.

currently being rebarrelled in .45-70, so that i may finish its transformation into the tactical rolling block by adding tritium GR sights, a butt cuff, tactical sling, and flashlight.

I'm kidding about the flashlight.

B.S.A. Martini Cadet stamped "Commonwealth of Australia" - rechambered from .310 to .32/20.

It's dated somewhere between 1910-1921 (too lazy to take it out of the safe to look for a date right now).

I got it last Christmas from dad.

1873 Springfield Trapdoor. Next is the 1896 Krag. Both shoot great, but the Krag is a tack-driver. Minute of golf ball at 100yds with iron sights.

I got pix!

Over the right arm is a .44-40 Colt Lightning pump rifle, action open, circa 1884. Under the left hand is a MK. IV Webley, circa 1914. In hand is Sven's CZ-75, which is new, but's still a hoot to shoot!

'Nuther pic of the Webley, showing off a Mk. VI barrel.

Thanking Sven for the cool pics from the April Bay Area Shoot.

My good friend Hally, with my Trapdoor Springfield. It's her favorite gun, hands down:

Winchester Model 94 in .32 Special. Manufactured in 1907. Shot it an awful lot when cowboy shooting in New England in the early 90's, but then they insisted on pistol caliber rifles so I haven't shot it much since then. Wish I had a pic.
