I work at a Archery/Gun shop, the owner bought some intresting rifles today as he was the highest offer in town.
He got a 45/70 Guide gun NIB, a French Mas 49/56 as new. and a Mak90 with athe longest barrel I have ever seen on one W/ bypod still in the box and looks unfired. He got a great deal but as I said he offered more than anyone else and he said he was streching his operating budget as it is slow right now.
I will have to look at these rifles until we sell them and lust after them. No I cant afford them right now I would love to have the Guide gun, the Mas, or the Mak90 but probley will not happen due to property TAXES!
Which one would you rather have?

the guide gun is top shelf
the MAS is french :scrutiny:
and the Mak 90 really doesn't need a long barrel

right now I'd go for lower property taxes, but the guide gun sure is tempting.
No man's life, liberty or property is safe while the Texas Legislature is in session.

AMEN! to the Texas law makers!
I see that they may be called back into session to finish the work they failed to do.

The MAK90 actually sounds like an NHM-91. Impact Guns had them a while back for $450 or so which is high, but they were NIB. Cool looking guns I think.

French it may be, but MAS 49-56's are really good guns.
Kinda strange that France, with their crummy military track record, should be responsible for great guns like the 49-56, the M-36 boltgun, and the MAS M-35, the basis of the famous Sig 210.
Makes you wonder what they wanted 'em for. 'Snot like they did the French any GOOD...;)  ;)

Makarov I think that you are right as it is not like my AK in that the barrel is much longer.
The Mas 49/56 intrests me but I really don't want another caliber in my inventory. The 7.62x39 is cheap to shoot and I would have to form all the 7.5 from 6.5x55 Swedish brass.

makarov is right, it is probably an NHM-91 by Norinco.
