I got a leupold VXI from Dicks for $200 for my 7mag. Looks good and very good quality, and so far it is standing up to recoil. The only thing I don't like is that the adjustment knobs don't "click" when you turn them, but it is a minor drawback. For the money it is a good deal, I am very happy with mine.

7mmsavage , how long has it been on your 7 mag . Is it a 3-9X40 .

With a Budget of $200 I would recommend the Burris Fullfield II, the Sightron S2, Nikon Buckmaster, or the Bushnell Elite 3200. All of these will give you better optical quality than the Leupold VXI for the same or less money.

.41Dave hit it...any one of those will be more than adequate for that 7mag.
I prefer the Burris or the Nikon...I have no experience with the Sightron or Bushnell but have heard good things from both those.
Conversely you can always find a used Leupy VX-III and then send it back to them and they will refurb it back to new for the cost of shipping...I have done this with an M8 6x32 that I stole for 130 bucks. :)

Several months ago we installed a Burris Fullfield II, 3x9x40 using Leupold rings and base on my wife’s 10/22 Ruger. I realize that a 10/22 is not a 7mm mag however this seems to be a very high quality scope. We picked in up at Bass Pro for $192.00 and they had a special going which included a decent Burris binocular.
My wife has fired about 2000 rounds with this scope in various lighting and its always seems to be bright. If I personally were setting up a new hunting rifle such as a 7mm I would seriously consider using this scope. FYI…Up to this point I’ve used nothing but Leupold, even on my Mod 70 7mm mag. My sensibility aside, the Leupold price was hard for us to justify on this 10/22 and we’re not disappointed.

The Nikon Prostaff is ok, but I think the extra $50 or so for the Nikon Buckmaster is worth it if you want to go with a Nikon scope. Personally, I would choose the Burris Fullfield II.

Get yourself a Bushnell Elite 3200 and some Warne rings/mounts.

Burris FF2 3x9x40 bplex from natchezss.com,I use them and the bplex is nice for those longer shots.I have a 4.5x14x42 on my 300 win and love it.FAR superior to my Varix IIs IMO.I will never buy anything else but burris. Also I might add it has great eye relief for those magnums.
