But I picked these up at the local gun club's gun show this morning:)

My wife is in Chicago visiting her sister and mother. I've got the boys. Dropped the elder at baseball practice, and needed to kill a couple hours with the younger. So we went to the itty bitty gun show.

First is a pre-17, 5 screw K22. Grips numbered to gun. Second is a 14-3. Both in pretty excellent shape. The dealer wanted $250 for the K22 and $325 for the 14-3. I offered $550 for the pair, and 30 minutes later I walked out the door.

Please tell me I did OK:cool:

You paid $550 for the two and they didn't arrest you ? You stole 'em.
I would've ripped my pants pocket getting my wallet out !

From a dealer? In guns? He must of been asleep or on drugs or something - you did great.

I've got one word for you "ambien". Because if you have any conscience at all your raging guilt over this will be keeping you up nights. (Dang, why can't I ever find deals that I could loose sleep over).

I hope you didn't conduct this awful transaction in front of your younger son. :what:

Who knows what the long range effects might be... :D

Did you do OK??? No way you could find those guns at those prices in my area. Your post has caused me to commit the sins of envy and coveting:o

The cops are at your door, something about a theft that took place at a small gun club gun show. Seriously, nice to see someone get a nice deal on a sweet set of revolvers. Nicer yet, someone who can appreciate the deal he got. Bill:what:

Those are some gorgeous K Frames you got there!

From a dealer? In guns? He must of been asleep or on drugs or something - you did great.

Yeah, that dealer obviously didn't know what he had. A K-22 5 screw (pre-17) in that condition could go for $550 by itself :what: !

Kinda makes me nauseous over what I paid for my K-22 and Model 14 pair (Top: Model 14-4; Bottom: Model 17-0):

Used S&W revolvers in general are among the best bargains to be had today. So many people have "automaticitis" (a strange eye disease that prevents folks from seeing anything that doesn't have a polymer frame and a 30 round magazine).

Even a bigger bargain are the good old Colt DA's, with the beautiful blue and an action that was fitted with lots of TLC.

I predict both will shoot up in value as soon as collectors get over another eye disease, cowboygunitis, which prevents seeing anything that doesn't have a big hammer spur and an ejection rod.

but since I'm a really nice guy, i'll send you $575 +shipping for the pair, just so that you don't have to absorb that kind of expense.

You know someone had to say that.

Great deal. Really really great. I am green with envy. Enjoy.

The only thing better'n a good deal on a nice old Smith is a screaming good deal for two of them.

Maybe I've been watching too much college hoops the past few weeks, all I can say is AWESOME WITH A CAPITAL "A" BAY-BEEEE!

Thanks folks. I'm tickled. Some things I should point out-

This specific dealer usually has pretty high prices. He's from Maryland (where all guns are rare, gonna be banned, discontinued, I'll give you a break on this $595 used Glock 17...). So this was a very unexpected surprise.

As some of you noted, I MAY be a thief. I am however not a greedy thief, and left something for the other folks at show. I passed on the third S&W at the table (a similar condition .357 with an 8 3/8" barrel for $310) :D

To keep my sons happy (and not gunbroke in their early twenties) I'm aquiring guns in sets of two so they each will start out with a pretty even stash of the basics. They probably won't have to fight over anything. :)

I cleaned them up last night and will put a few rounds through them today. Triggers are very nice, timing and lock up just fine. I'm happy, and gun-broke until the next temptation passes my way.:)

They must not have these here intarnets up in the hollers of PA. Dealer must not have checked the prices on those in awhile. Probably checked his records and added $20 to what he had in them. Nice catch. Joe

Wanna adopt me? I'm 28, so I'm not much older :p :D .

Pretty generous of you, I'll have to do the same for my kids way down the road.
