P/W or MEC 9000G?

Hey folks,

I have a question for yall.

I got a wild bug in my ear, and am now in the matket for a good, decently-priced, shotshell press.

At first I was gonna go with the Dillon SL900, but it's a little more than I want to spend, and a few folks have said that they are not "all that". (I happen to have the Dillon XL650, and it's the "Cat's Meow" in my opinion).

So anyhoo...I now have my eyes set on a MEC900G or a P/W press.

The MEC9000G I have found in a few different places for a reasonable price. But I am still kinda scratching my head on the P/W presses.

The P/W presses I am not too familiar with.

The ones I have seen at decent prices are the model:

P/W 800B
P/W Size-O-Matic 900

My question is this...are the latter P/W presses progressive?

Are the latter P/W parts readily available?

And of the two P/W presses above, which is the better, or most current?

I ask because I have found used MEC9000G presses for around $200.00 to $250.00. And I have found the latterP/W presses (used) in the same price range.

Which would be the better press and deal...and why?

Your comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

In Christ: Raymond

I'm not familiar with the P/W presses either.

But, a few years ago I bought a MEC9000 press. I do a heck of a lot of loading on it, and it keeps working, occasionally, I'll get a stoppage, but it's rarely anything problematic. I usually load my own slugs in 12ga on the thing. Works great. I also load a lot of 12ga target loads.

I'm inclined to go with the MEC9000, I got mine for $200 used, and it's already paid for itself many times over.
