Hello all, I have a list of guns that I am interested in finding approximate vlaue, age, information on. However, being a new guy here I don't know if that is a proper thing to do Just dump a whole laundry list of guns onto a thread. This is do to the unfortunate passing of my father-in-law, and we are trying to ascertain potential worth for my mother-in-law. A few nicer condition, shootable guns: Winchester, S & W, Ruger etc, but there are several that are..... curiosities as in who/what/where/when sort of things, nothing outlandish like cutlass pistols etc.

SO... how should I approach this, just list a few here in single threads or .. can I give you all the info I have about several in one thread or ....??
I don't want to be rude or improperly post etc.

Thank you

buy a bluebook of guns off amazon, that may be the most sensible approach (less opinionated)

HHmmm hadn't thought of that, doe sthat book list foreign makers etc, Rossi (made in Brazil) etc? I do have a couple that I would like a bit more info on.
I looked on Ruger's site, but found no specific in on:

Ruger Mark II semi-auto .22 cal long rifle Target serial # 210-59xxx @ 9" barrel. I THINK.. it was made in the mid 80's? I am going to download a Mark II owner's guide for it to help with break-down/cleaning of it, may get sold. Probably rate as good (or a little better??) condition.

Interarms 25.06 Mark X left side of receiver stamped with Zastava Yugoslavia
underneath Alexandria ---INTERARMS---Virginia ser # A66xx
It's a bolt action in very good (I think) shape, also may get sold (little rust spot near the ball end of bolt is all , bluing in very good condition.

Thanks in advance for any info on these 2 pieces.

For the revolvers, I would start an individual thread concerning each one in the revolver forum or here. We wheelgun freaks love that kind of stuff. For any autos or long guns, stick to this forum. Photos help a bunch.

If you have less than, say ten, or if you know what they basically are, searching Gun Broker and Auction Arms will give you a fair idea of the market.

well there are more than 10, but I consider most of them junk or scrap iron. The shootable ones are in good shape, the others, well lets say the rust is pretty solid on the old 8 guage and the 3 Hopkins and Allen .22 's are not fireable for sure. The ones he had look like the Junior pictured in another thread on this forum ( actually one IS A Junior) except, they all 3 have a ring on the stock just ahead of the trigger guard area. If my sister-in-law can send me the digital pics, I can post some. Other than the 2 items I listed, I forgot to mention that the Interarms 25.06 has a Kassnar 3x9x40 scope mounted on it. Googling has gotten me nowhere trying to even find out the Real manufacturer or producer of said scope.

The Ruger value will be in the Blue Book
The rifle might be a little harder as the company is no longer
around. If I recall, the rifles were built on a little more refined
Mauser action. Condition is a major factor on price setting for
the more modern firearms; however, some really bad looking to you
may be a real collector find to those into oldies:) :)

Your Mark X rifle is a Zastava action and likely an English-made (some of these were marked Whitworth) or FN barrel. I'm going off memory alone here, but that's how I remember it.

They are supposed to be great shooters.

Does it have a butterknife bolt and set trigger?

"Does it have a butterknife bolt and set trigger?"

No :( plain jane I am afraid, nothing real remarkable, but I was looking more for a shooter than a collector. I am glad to hear that they are considered to be good shooters! I am somewhat curious about what appears to be a magazine catch inside the trigger guard, but I can NOT move it with hand pressure at all and I do NOT want to force it. The bottom plate (or the magazine cover) of the magazine actually appears to be plastic!! I will try to get a photo or 2 posted for clarification (which I doubt that you guys really need !!)

In my experience, the Blue Book lists a lot of stuff WAY HIGHER than it goes for in my area. I think values vary regionally too much for the Blue Book to be all that much help. Of course, it'll give you a general idea, but it's by no means gospel.

I don't know 6_Gunner I wish I could buy the guns in my area at blue book prices. Seem to 25-40% more in gun shops out here than bb value. just my observation.

"...(less opinionated)..." And less accurate. The Blue Book gives average prices from data collected from all over the U.S. and doesn't reflect local variances. Any book of values is at least two years out of date as well. It take sthat long to get a book put together and published. However, for insurance and estate values it'll do.
