Etching on my K31

I finally got my K31 and I'm really happy with it. When looking it over I noticed a small bit of laser etching that says Samco MIA Fl, EMB K31, 7.5 swiss, and was wondering what this meant. The etching is right near the crown of the gun and I got the gun from AIM. Thanks for the help.

Importer markings which are required by federal law. Samco at least makes their marking small, Century is notorious for their electropencil markings on the receiver which are about 2" long and 1" high and usually includes a newly assigned serial number.

It's the importer's stamp. The gun was imported by Samco, which is located in Miami, FL.

good, being a huge greenhorn I thought it might have meant the gun was somehow tampered with. Speaking of green horn, for my first gun ever and my first shooting ever, is 8 out of 12 shots at 100 yrds in a five inch group decent? I really appreciate the help and advice.

I'd say that's pretty good shooting.
What ammo are you using? GP11, Wolf, Prvi, FNM, Hornaday?

For what position? Prone, sitting, standing, what?
As others have stated, it is the import stamp as required by the SSA of '68. Don't you feel safer?:scrutiny:

It was wolf-gold full metal jacket, sitting without a rest for the gun, and It was pretty windy so my shots were slightly to the right. Man that K31 kicks!

mon, it's only 90% of a .308. The recoil is nothing.
Did you loop up correctly with your sling, get your weight slightly forward and press down with your feet? Get that butt into your shoulder, throw that thumb out of the way of your nose so you can dig into that weapon. Front sight! . . . . press straight back smooooooth.

well in Century’s defense. Many of the guns they import such as Mosins original serials include characters the BATFE will not accept
other rifles they have no excuse.

The K31 is my favorite rifle. I'm pretty recoil sensitive and I don't find it bad at all on the K31.
