Are the stocks on mossberg500 12g interchangeable with the 20g ? I would like to put a new stock on a model 500cg 20g but the 12g stocks are much easier to find.

The stocks for the 12GA Model 500 will mount to the 20 GA Model 500, that being said, it won't be pretty.

The 20GA receiver is a little narrower than the 12GA, there will be about a 1/16" overhang on each side where the stock and the receiver meet. So, you will have to modify (trim, grind, sand, or cut) the stock to fit.

Are you looking for just a buttstock or a forestock also?
I might have some of each in both 12 and 20.
