Gorgeous! I'm jealous!

To me, they always kinda looked like Don Johnson's Bren Ten in Miami Vice. (Which is a good thing!)

Welcome to the 1006 club , I got mine yesterday . Try feeding it some 170gr ammo . I got some from a coworker who swears by it out of his Colt Delta .

yong -- Nice 10mm! How's it shoot? I want to someday get a whitetail with a 10mm.

Regarding 38 Super -- Check out Rock Island Arms. They have an inexpensive 1911 in 38 Super.

no, I have only seen blazer ammo online and in stores(academy).
have not shot this one yet, it is a beauty. gonna take it out to the range this weekend along with the norinco.

how is the recoil of a 10mm?

I do need to get one of these. Prices are going up everyday it seem. I know S&W is into making runs of older revolvers, but they would sell alot of these too.

The 1006 is my favorite 10mm. It shoots like a dream. A little more pop than a 9mm, but there's no doubt that you are in control of the round. It's also extremely accurate. While I like the G20 and 29, shoot the 1006 side by side with the Glock 10s and you'll see you bought the right gun. They're like good real estate, so you made the right move to buy when you had the chance.

How do you like those wood grips? When I first saw the stock plastic grip, I thought that would be the first thing I would change and that the recoil would make me do it fast. Surprisingly, it felt good so I left it on.

I like the tulip grips look. as for feel, I haven't fired this gun yet. I plan on putting 50 through it this sunday. i prefer wood grips over rubber/plastic though. I have a feeling I will like this one.

It isn't bad at all, of course it doesn't hurt that the gun is so heavy. Most of the 10mm stuff you'll find like blazer or umc is really just barely a step above .40 loads. If you want 10mm loaded to its potential then you need to look at doubletap. Winchesters silvertips are also loaded pretty decently, but obviously they aren't plinking ammo :D

Nice S&W 1006 you got there! I love mine! I'm going to replace the plastic grips on mine as well. I'm going to put some Hogue checkered coco-bolo grips on it. I too have only shot the CCI Blazer 10 mm. 200 gr. tmj. and it's not bad at all. I will be Handloading for this round and .45 COLT when I can get set up for it.:)

Bit of an understement, don't ya think? 9x19 +P+ will get close to 500 ft/lbs; a true full power 10mm load can achieve 800 ft/lbs.

Congrats, you'll love it. My 1006 is absolutely my favorite service-type pistol.

The Blazer is a fun load to kill time with if you're shooting the 10mm, but that's about it, really. :D Granted, driving full-house loads all the time would shorten the lifespan of most if not all 10mm pistols, but then if I wanted a .40 that's what I'd have gotten instead of a 10mm. I'll be rolling my own for the 10mm shortly as well.
That's a good lookin' 1006, yongxingfreesty, congrats!

Here is mine; it is mostly a safe queen, but I still love it:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v212/ny32182/1006_4.jpg

It was refinished in boron silver by Brad at CCR.

I used to have a 1076 as well, but traded it on a deal I couldn't pass up. My next 10 will probably be a G20, since I don't currently have a 10mm "shooter". But that is down the road.

As others have said, there is quite the difference between 10mm practice ammo and "real" 10mm hot ammo. Practice 10mm feels about the same as practice .40, while 10mm loaded in the 7XX ft.lb. range has hand-web burning pop even out of the big all steel gun, that puts all "lesser" service handgun rounds to shame.

Great choice.

this is my safe queen also except no safe yet. I keep putting it off, but actually gonna get a cheap one next week. with ammo and all my pistols/rifles, I think it will require 3+ people to carry it out the door. HAHA

I fell in love the minute I saw her smiling at me from the glass case.

She needs a little trigger work before I'd trust her on a hunt, but those Houge grips sure fit nice.
