at one time there was a spacer washer made so you can load 357 and 44mag by just putting this washer under the 38spl/44spl die.
any one still make these? have a set they are not useing?

A few years ago I heard about those washers and called RCBS to see if they carried them. They did. I tried to order one and the customer service guy wouldn't do it. Instead, he just sent me a couple of them at no charge. Have always had good dealings with RCBS.

I think Lyman also has them as well. I use a spacer and it works like a charm for me, I was surprised at how accurate it was.

cheap way out go to the hardware store and buy 3 1/8"thick washers with a 7/8' id works just as well and much cheaper

Actually, two. One is not necessary for the sizing die, but I agree about going to Lowes, or HD to get them.

I've used a set from RCBS for 20+ years. A great time-saving little tool.

I have to admit, when I saw your thread title "die spacer washer" I thought you were writing in German. :)

I have the Redding set of three washers.
One .135" for .38 - .357, the difference in case length is NOT 1/8".
one .125" for .44 Spl - Magnum, which are 1/8" apart.
one .040" so you can set the seating die up just high enough to not crimp without disturbing the crimp setting for your regular load.

"...38spl/44spl..." You do mean the .38spec/.357mag and .44spec/.44mag die sets don't you? You can make the whole issue go away by loading the magnum cases to Special velocities. Assuming you're using a magnum revolver. Eliminates the ring of lube crud that accumulates in the cylinders when shooting the shorter cases too.
"...sent me a couple of them at no charge..." Yep. They sent me a whole package of decapping pins long ago. Didn't take long either. The rest of the manufacturing world could learn a lot about customer service from the reloading manufacturers.
