Most of the in-the-waistband holsters I've seen are for full-size 1911's. I think my EMP would be fine in my waistband but I'm not going for the gangsta look so I'm looking for a comfortable very concealable holster along with a matching magazine pouch. BTW, if I have 10 rounds should I bother with the extra clip or two? I guess the future is unwritten---know your rights!

Fistfull,

I have been under the impression (perhaps falsely) that any holster designed for the 3-inch (officer) sized 1911's should still work for the EMP. I purchased a Galco UDC holster for a 3-inch 1911 and it has worked perfectly.

This is the rig that I use for my Glock 26 and my EMP (two different holsters, obviously, but same style)

Hope that helps.

For question #2, I typically leave extra magazines in my vehicle. But I do not carry them. I suppose this is simply personal preference.

I think any 3" 1911 holster will work fine.

I have a 3" 1911 Milt Sparks Watch Six (Alessi Dual Talon version) that I might be putting up for sale soon. I was keeping it for a potential EMP purchase, but decided not to go the EMP route... This particular W6 was my "backup" and only used perhaps 10 times. It's essentially brand new. If you're interested, PM me.

Dang, so many holsters, so little cabbage, and so many options---belt loop or Talon clips? Reinforced mouth? Forward cant or straight up? Black, brown, natural, or cordovan (this is the easy part)? And top top it all off, there's a 3-5 month waiting period! :banghead:

I think since you use a thin belt, you'll have to go with Talons. Otherwise the holster will move around on you, which will make things less comfortable.

Nate at UBG makes a nice holster for about 70 delivered. Delivery time is about 2-3 weeks.

I've been waiting for my Milt Sparks since late January. Estimate was 22 weeks, I think.

Since then I have ordered, received and used one UBG Holster and ready to order another.

That Milt Sparks better be all it's cracked up to be, otherwise I'll sell it and buy two more UBGs.

They are only 29.95 now, not 36.95, which was pretty danged good already.

Nice---not as purdy but it sure looks functional. Comfy too?

The Alessi Talon Plus is a super holster at a very good price.

Looks like I can buy them all day on Flea Bay for $60.00 (except for a 1911 of course). I think Lop Lop suggested the Talon (clips) because I wear a thin belt. I can't seem to find Alessi's website---if there one? I'm getting itchy to buy a holster but don't want to wait 6 months!

Lou does not have a website but his e-mail is LFAlessi@cs.com. If you want his number I will look it up. He is very busy as is Milt Sparks.

I was already in touch with them:

We have nothing in stock or on order to accommodate your EMP.

Speed, I emailed Lou and they are 6 months backlogged. I should've bought Lop Lop's but wanted to research. A lot of these holsters seem "Alessi inspired" and are very similar.

I haven't had the chance to fondle one of Josh's holsters but they come very recommended. One of these days I will have to order one. He uses the Talon clip from Alessi.

I have a call in to him. He's about two hours away. His backlog looks pretty bad too, but that's just how it is unless you're willing to settle for less and then end up buying a custom holster later anyway. You end up paying twice so it's best just to buy the best in the first place (and wait for it to get here). That one with the Alessi clips looks pretty nice and I think I will take one in mahogany. It sure looks comfy!

Just had a nice talk with Josh and I think I will order the one with the loops.

I generally wear a belt with jeans and shorts. Anything else I need to consider before I click "send" and place my order?
