I have a dumb question.
Lets say that you have an intruder in your home and you must stalk him.I have Sig P220st,so after i rack the slide should i leave it in the SA mode and place my trigger finger above the trigger on the frame ?
Or,should i drop the hammer with my decocker and proceed with my trigger finger ON the trigger.

The reason why i ask this is because my trigger-pull in the DA mode is a little stiff and heavy,[i think because it's a new pistol].So if i had to shoot quickly, it might be smarter to already have my trigger finger on a DA mode trigger to save time.
Or do i stalk with the pistol in a DA mode AND with my trigger finger above the trigger on the frame,same as in the SA mode ? :confused: :confused: :confused:

Personally, if there's an intruder in my home I intend shooting him as soon as possible. The hammer will be back, my finger will be on the trigger and the laser will be on the intruder as quickly as possible.

If you must stalk an unknown in your home it should be to cover family members. It is much better to arm yourself and call for help with everyone in your safe room. \
However, if you must, keep the gun pointed low and finger off the trigger.
H doesn't do it that way on CSI Miami because he shoot lots of people and they are all bad(anyone ever tally his kills)?. If you do confirm that your intruder is a BG and the BG knows he shouldn't be in there I would then proceed just like H.

It's not a "dumb" question, these are basic questions that should be asked by anyone who owns firearms.

You should not be "stalking" anyone or anything unless you have been trained. If defending your home, it is better to barricade yourself along with loved ones and wait for BGs to come to you. You then have control, whereas wandering around your home untrained can leave you at the disavantage of a determined BG.

Make ready your weapon but keep finger off of trigger until you are ready to kill whatever is in front of muzzle.

I strongly suggest that you take a introduction to handguns class at the minimum. Then, if you want to, take as many advanced classs as you can. Then you will understand the dangers of "stalking" in your own home.
