I was wondering when playing Castle Wolfenstein for Xbox how realistic the guns are displayed in the game. Being a young guy myself and not too familiar with these WWII weapons. Anybody have played the game?
My gamertag is Spoons_16
If you are on Xbox Live...post your gamertag and maybe we can all get together for some good shooting.

I haven't played the game on Xbox, but I beat it on my PC.
The guns are quite accurately portrayed in this game, except for the "gatling" machine gun and the "infared sniper rifle". No such animals existed in the '40's.
My favorite is the Thompson submachine gun. Best "bang" for the buck at close range.
If you like this game, you should DEFINITELY try Medal of Honor, Allied Assault... The game is worth its purchase price for just the Normandy D-day scenario... AWESOME!

Haven't played Castle Wolf on Xbox, but I used to play it on pc's in the mid-90's. You started game with a knife, a Luger with 8 rounds. Picked up ammo as you went, could get a full-auto [looked kinda like the "grease gun'], then the "chain gun" [gatling gun type].

IMO Day of Defeat (http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com) for Half-Life has the most realistic WWII firearms of any PC or console game.
As an owner and operator of a M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Enfield #4 Mk I, and a Colt 1911A1, I can profess to the realism portrayed in the game. As far as the others represented, they seem to be spot-on as well. My only gripe is that the MG42 heats up too quickly.

I've played Wolfenstein on the PC quite a bit. I like the fact that they made Mausers deadly at long range, but they seem to have made them do damage equal to a 9x19 at close range. Very strange. I also wish they'd included a bayonet alt. attack mode. Those boys are LETHAL with a bayonet--like a medieval spear.
They also equipped 90% of the Krauts with machine pistols, which seemed a tad unrealistic. Still, zombies are unrealistic, too :D

Yeah, and a trench gun would have been cool, too.

"Snooper" scopes were real. Rare, but real.
MOM: AA is the better game.

MOHAA with a good realism mod is great. I couldn't stop playing it for a while.
I never liked the pace of Wolfenstien. It couldn't decide if it was Quake or DoD.

1942 is awesome too for WW2 weapons even though there are not enough of them.
