I saw a SS Ruger Security Six with 5 1/2" bbl in .44mag. I didn't even know they made one in .44mag. What is the info on these guns? Are they rare? Does anyone have one?

Are you sure it wasn't a Redhawk?

Ya, the Redhawk and the Security/Service series are "design cousins" from the same era. I'd bet good money that's what it was.
The SP/GP series is a later "design era". And the SRH is just plain freaky in a good way :D.

This is the gun that I was talking about.
It turns out that it is not really a .44mag but a .357mag.

Check out who bought the thing:
"Federal Retiree"
:p
I wonder if he's figured out what caliber it REALLY is yet.

It sold for $365. I think that is a little high for a .357. I think the seller has some splaning to do. He also charges $25 shipping!
