I have a stoeger condor (o/u) that I really like. It's about 5 years old and I use it a lot for waterfowl and shooting clays. The last time I had it out, I noticed the thin metal strip that runs the length of the barrel, between the upper and lower barrels, had broken loose at the receiver end. It is still attatched at the muzzle end. I would like to know if that is something that can be fixed by a gunsmith. Is it a structural piece or just for looks (to hide the gap between the barrels?). I checked with the store I bought it from (Dick's sporting goods) and they said they didn't show a replacement barrel available from stoeger but who knows how hard the guy really looked? Since it's an inexpensive gun, I don't want to spend a lot of money on it but like I said, I do like the gun. Any ideas?:confused:

Contact stoeger online. I don't remember whether these have the monoblock receivers. If so, it could be soldered. If not, it would be cheaper to toss it and buy a new gun.

Re-solder, re-blue. Done.

No need to replace the barrel.
