I've got four STI (Edge) 140mm mags and need to put basepads on for Limited uspsa, not ipsc. I've been running a Para and have Dawson pads on those but it seems for the STI the dawson's only go +1. Does Arrendondo, or some other basepads, give you more capacity? What do you guys use?

Grams 4mm pads give me 20 rounds in STI and SVI tubes.

Dawson +1 pads also give me 20, but they arent reloadable.

I have a couple Limcat +1 pads I use for speed shoots when I really want the mag out of the gun in a hurry.

Hoser, what do you mean that the Dawson are not reloadable? Also, what springs do you use? Do you have to upgrade the spring when using a +1 basepad?

"Reloadable" in this context means that the mag cannot be used for a reload while the slide is forward. That is, the slide must be locked back because the mag spring is fully compressed.

I use Dawson pads only on my STI guns after trying all the rest. I have a couple STI tubes that are reloadable with 20 rounds in them, but it is only a couple of them. The Grams pads gain a little bit of room, but not nearly enough to deal with the hassle of taking them off to clean the mags after each stage.

I have only rarely needed 21 rounds in the gun to start and I have never needed to reload into 20 rounds to complete a stage. 19 rounds in each is PLENTY.

ISMI is the best mag spring out there IMO. Call Chuck at www.shootersconnection.com and get the springs, pads and Dawson +1 followers from him. That is the most reliable setup I have found for an STI in 40.
