I have a Marlin Model 1894C .357, I was going to put Williams Dovetail Firesights on it but am having trouble getting the front sight to "Dovetail" into the ramp.
Any suggestions or tricks? Am I missing something?

Use a file on the front sight and take a few strokes on the beveled sides. Then check for fit. You want it tight. You may have to repeat a few times for the proper fit.

Actually, if I could hijack this thread on a related topic, I just got a rear aperture sight from this company http://skinnersights.com/
and now my front sight is too low. The bead ends up at the bottom of the circle instead of the center.
Can anyone recommend a place to purchase a slightly higher front sight for the 1894C? I guess fiber optic would be nice, but not required.

I might suggest that you use a stone instead of a file and lightly stone the bottom of the front sight instead of the barrel dovetail. Should only take a few strokes...

+1 with Dusty. Make haste slowly.

Go back to Skinner, and order a taller sight from him, and tell him your problem. I'm sure he would appreciate the input.
