I just got my self a Ruger SRH .44 Rem Magnum with a 9,5” barrel, and a Nikon 2 x 20 scope and took it to the outdoor range for the first time today, I was shooting at 25 – 50 – 100 yards, using a factory ammo with a 240 grain bullet.

This was very exiting shooting, I was surprised how accurate this gun shoots at 100 yards and how little the trajectory dropped between 50 and 100 yards, I was very skeptic when I pointed the gun at the 100 yard target, it’s rater small true a 2 x 20, I had a 8 x 8 inch target and my only goal was to hit the dawn thing.

My best shooting was a 7” group from 6 shots at a 100 yards, maybe this was pure luck, or maybe this will improve, I don’t know, but I am going to try.

There are probably members here on the list, that would sell there guns if they shot this bad, but I would like to know what the average groups are among the experienced shooters ?

One of my practice primers before Deer season is to shoot my .44mags with open sights, off hand, at an 8" steel plate at 100yds. If I don't hit it 5 of 6 times, I'm upset.

I take it that your scoped shooting was from a rest.???

It'll get better. You'll get better.

I was sitting down with the gun resting on a backpack on the table, it was perfect for me.

I will definitely skip the Iowa shotgun season this year and use the revolver instead, this will be handy especial in the woods.
