Hi gang! :D

Any members here know the big differences(if any, ) between the new HK P30 models and the US versions of the HK P-2000 LEMs?

I'm looking into some new sidearms and wanted to know what if anything this new P30 has over the proven HK P-2000 LEM designs.

Thanks!

Rusty:D

Hi Rusty - some info on it here (http://hkpro.com/p3000.htm) and here. (http://www.heckler-koch.de/core.php?dat=Y29tcG9uZW50PWFydGljbGVzJmFjdGlvbj1zaG93JnhJRD1wcm9kdWN0QXJ0aWNsZURldGFpbHMmYXJ0aWNsZUlEPTQyNiZjYXRJRD0xMzA0JmxhbmdJRD01JnBhcmVudElEPTcyNCZuYXZpZ2F0aW9uSUQ9NzI1JnVzZUZsYXNoPTE=)

Looks to be basically a P2000 with different grips, forward cocking serrations, and a Picatinny rail. It has the "CDA" trigger available in different weights, which, as I understand it, is the European name for the LEM system. Hope this helps.

I think the barrel is a tiny bit longer too. I always wished the P2000 had a 4" barrel.

Thanks for the post, keep sending 'em gang! :D

Any members know if the HK P30 models sold in the USA will have those dumb %&* security locks like other HK pistols?

I'd hope the new gun company friendly laws passed in the last few years would change the designs and products from major firms like Heckler&Koch USA... .

It also has a higher magazine capacity. 15 rounds instead of 13.

I wondered how they managed that until I compared the overall height of the P30 and P2000 - the P30 is about 10 millimeters taller. I have always assumed that the less space-demanding striker firing system in GLOCK pistols (for example, the G19, which is about the same height as a P2000) is why they are generally able to pack in a few extra rounds over comparably-sized hammer-fired pistols - is this correct?

As mentioned above, it's a bigger pistol. Think "full size P2000" and you're not far off.

Which is why they should call it the P2000FS.

I'm just waiting for a P30SK. I like the changes with the P30 but I am in the market for a smaller pistol.

What changes do you like, PPGMD?

If the HK45 and HK45C are anything to go by... I'm guessing there will never be a P30SK.

I'm with you Tecumseh. What's next, a rename of the P2000 to P20? :scrutiny:

The grip appears to be a bit more comfortable, and they should be able to make it the same height, and have more room for your fingers. I also like the standard rail, much easier to pull off the light/laser combo compared to the USP.

I'm looking forward to the new HK45 and HK45c & hope that it makes it into the PRK in the next 18 months

I'm probably going to wait for the HK45 Tactical as the 45 is the best round to silence.

Of course I also have a USP 40 and a Walther P99c AS to play with, both are Rambo'd out, a Surefire (with Tru-Glo sights coming) for my USP, and an Insight X2 Laser for my P99.

IIRC in addition to having the interchangable back straps the p30 has the imterchangable side plates as well.

As I understand it, Larry Vicker's involvement was cut short because of creative differences but most of the work had been completed. Still the piece is an HK & should be an upgrade from the USP
