I hope it is good and that it works. Never know if the 'one' ya get will be the lemon and a big headache. There are no local dealers or stocking dealers, which is a bit disappointing for a town the size of Vegas, but anyway, I am pretty fired up to get this pistol. I ordered it via a local shop. It gets good reviews. I feel a little bad about spending so much money, but that feeling will pass in a couple weeks and I can keep it forever.

My decision was down to the SA loaded, PT1911, and the Dan Wesson. I would have got the loaded, but the trigger on the DW is alleged to be better.

Anyway, not a very exciting post, but it is on my mind. I will post pictures early next week.

Dan Wessons are very nice guns, I'm sure the quality will still be there, even after the CZ buy out:)

Congrats! & good luck ;) I bought a CBOB a few months ago & I went through a break in period that caused some frustration...but I think (knock on wood!) I have it all figured out ;)

Posts about new guns are always exciting. :D And I've heard nothing but good things about the post-CZ Dan Wesson guns. I have a Springfield Loaded and it's a very good gun, but from what I've heard about the DWs, I think you made a good decision.

I've had my eye on the Commander Bobtail since I first saw it. The level of finish on Dan Wesson 1911s is exceptional. Congratulations, hope you love it.

The trigger on my SA loaded was a disappointment and the extractor broke within the first few hundred rounds. I think you made a good choice. Mine's great now, but has all Ed Brown guts.

I have both Springfield Armory and Dan Wesson Razorback 1911's. While the DW is a 10mm, it was way more accurate out of the box than the SA, until I dropped a Wilson Combat match grade barrel and bushing and a trigger job on the SA. I am sure you will be pleased with the Pointman as it comes out of the box.;)

And no MIM parts on DW's since CZ bought them.;)

I have a post-CZ DW Commander Bobtail in 10mm and it is rock-solid. I've never had an issue with it and I shoot HOT Double Tap ammo exclusively. I rarely carry it because 1) It's the most handsome gun I own and 2) It's heavy enough to pull my pants into the "ghetto position" due to my condition of "noassatall".

I know they all make lemons, but for my money, Dan Wesson is the best 1911 buy on the market.

I hear that the Pointman is a great 1911. Solid, accurate, and reliable. I considered getting one, but they are just not my cup Ďo tea. Itís too bad because I really liked the one that I handled. I just donít like factory checkering, front slide serrations, and extended controls that you could land a 747 on. Please donít get me wrong, I an not knocking them, they are solid performers with popular featuresÖ I guess that I am just a purist.

I actually had a hard time deciding between a DW pointman or a DW Razorback in 10mm. I loved the adjustable sights on the Pontman, but loved the squared top of the slide on the Razorback. Finally decided to get the Razorback and a set of CT Laser Grips to make up for the non adjustable sights. Needn't have worried, the fixed sights were right on the money, but I just love the laser.
